Record Remote Podcast Guests on iPhone

Learn how to record remote podcast guests on iPhone with a private room, shareable guest link, live guest mixer, video, and high-quality audio.

Video walkthroughInvite a guest and record the conversation

A two-device guest-room demo is being prepared. The steps below cover setup, soundcheck, recording, and the files to check afterward.

A remote studio you can run from the iPhone

Backpack Studio can create a private room and bring remote voices into the same live mixer as your microphone and soundboard. Share the invitation link, set every guest’s level, add video when it helps the conversation, and record or stream the program without moving to a desktop studio.

01 · Create

Open a private guest room

Create the room before the scheduled recording and copy its invitation link. Send the link with the start time and a short request for headphones, a quiet location, a charged device, and a stable internet connection.

02 · Join

Make entry easy for the guest

The guest can follow the shared link without building your soundboard or learning the host controls. Ask them to approve microphone access, select the intended input, and keep the room open while you complete the soundcheck.

03 · Check

Listen before recording

Have every participant speak at normal interview volume. Adjust the guest mixer so voices feel balanced, look for echo or room noise, and confirm that nobody is monitoring through an open speaker. Headphones solve most feedback problems.

04 · Choose video

Use the camera when it adds value

Video helps eye contact and can support a live presentation, but it is optional for an audio-first interview. If the connection becomes unstable, protect the conversation by simplifying the session before sacrificing clear speech.

05 · Record

Run the show from one mixer

Start the recording, bring in prepared soundboard cues, and watch the guest levels as the conversation changes. If you are also broadcasting live, keep the local recording running so the program is preserved if the stream disconnects.

06 · Finish

Check the recordings and create the episode

Review the available host and guest recordings and download the files you need before clearing the room. Finish the episode with your normal export workflow, then create a transcript, show notes, highlights, or short reels if those tools fit the show.
