Tap Room, then Create Room
Start on the Backpack Studio soundboard and tap the Room button. Tap Create Room to make a private room and invitation link.
Send the invitation link
Tap Share to send the invitation directly, or tap Copy and paste it into a message. Your guest opens that link to join your room.
Your guest installs Backpack Live
Your guest is asked to install Backpack Live, a free, simple app for joining your room. The invitation takes them to its App Store listing when they need the app.
Both of you must wear headphones
The host and guest must both wear headphones or earbuds, or the room will not work. Keep them connected for the entire conversation.
Enter the room and check both voices
Tap Enter Room. Your camera appears when video is enabled, then your guest joins you. Before recording, check that you can hear each other clearly.
Tap Record
Tap Record to capture your microphone, your guest, and your sound pads. The large microphone button turns blue and glows when the mic is active.
Shrink the room and use your sound pads
Tap the room at any time to shrink it while you keep talking. You can now interact with the soundboard and tap a pad to bring music or another cue into the recording. Tap the room again to enlarge it.
Finish, save, and open Recordings
When the conversation is done, finish and save the recording while Backpack mixes the interview. Open Recordings when the mix is complete. Your interview is ready to play back or share.
